Great flick, maybe the best this year. Stunningly and evocatively photographed. I don’t see many, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad Korean movie. Based on a Murakami story -- it doesn’t have a talking giant frog, but it still works. Hope it finds an audience. Sometimes excruciating: Check it out.

 2-21-17 Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind I thought I had seen this animation before. It's considered the first Ghibli. Turns out I had never seen it -- but might have read some of the comic books. Anyway, it was really fantastic. I had a great time and can't recommend it enough. Post-Apocalypse: Check. Princess Heroine: Check. Cute pet: Check. Fanciful Flying Machines: Check. Warring Tribes; Warring Species; Warring Ecologies: Check. Sword Fights: Check. Kinda Like? -- Dune. Sand Worms? -- No, Doodle Bugs. Really, really, really good. Check it out.

Visually stunning on the big screen. Pitt nails it. Rather than a dramatic whole, it's a string of episodes that make no sense whatsoever. Check it out!
